LIRNEasia is an independent think tank based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, that promotes decentralized innovation to enhance the lives of the poor. Its mission is to catalyze policy change through research in order to improve people’s lives in the emerging Asia Pacific by conducting research, disseminating knowledge and providing training to policy makers, regulators, service providers and the media. LIRNEasia works on several themes including: the future of work, Internet access for people with disabilities, digital policy and regulation, and digital rights. Through IDRC’s Strengthening Cyber Policy Centres in the Global South initiative, DECI currently provides mentoring to LIRNEasia in Research Communication and U-FE as a means of enhancing its strategy and strengthening its organizational adaptive management capacity.
